With the expansion of WDCD to São Paulo, we further widened the scope of our debate and chances for Dutch designers internationally. As a cultural pioneer country, one of the richest economies in the world, but also a society that is prone to drastic economic, social and political developments, such as growing inequality, Brazil shows great receptivity to creative social innovations.
WDCD São Paulo 2015 clearly responded to a latent need in Brazil’s centre of creativity. A second edition was much desired in São Paulo and another great opportunity to introduce the Dutch approach to design and creativity in the Brazilian cultural scene. On 13 & 14 December 2016 we returned to São Paulo’s Teatro of the Fundação Armando Alvares Penteado (FAAP) with presentations around the topics of communication, senses, nature, urban issues, cultural consciousness and refugees.
